Yogveda Journal Switzerland Vol. 31: Science of the Vedas

The golden cover of the Yogveda Journal Vol. 31 regarding the Science of the Vedas, biomechanics, microbiology, and Yoga Sutra 1.31.
Cover of the Yogveda Journal Vol. 31. The golden emblem of the Vedas representing ancient empirical sciences, biomechanics, and cognitive-somatic regulation.

Welcome to the Yogveda Journal, Vol. 31. 2026.

In our previous volumes, we established a definitive baseline: classical Indian philosophy—the Darshanas—is a matrix of strict, peer-reviewed sciences, completely devoid of theological myths. The pedagogical and clinical framework of Yogveda Yoga, established by Master Shahid Khan, relies exclusively on the empirical science of these systems, categorically excluding all theological paradigms.

The Science of the Vedas provides the foundational epistemological architecture for this entire clinical framework.

However, when we examine the historical timeline, we are forced to address a structural tragedy. Over the centuries, these rigorous sciences of radical self-reliance and cognitive liberation (Moksha) slowly degenerated into passive god worship and religious dogma. How did a system built on clinical physics and applied action devolve into blind faith? We begin this volume by analyzing this exact historical shift, exposing how biological responsibility was traded for religious comfort.

To understand what was lost, we must return to the source: the four Vedas. Stripped of religious misinterpretation and ritualistic superstition, the Vedas are not mystical hymn books; they are the original scientific texts of ancient India. In this issue, we deconstruct the Rigveda as the foundational epistemology of cosmic order, the Sāmaveda as the bio-acoustic science of neuromuscular frequency, the Yajurveda as the strict biomechanics of applied action, and the Atharvaveda as an ancient treatise on microbiology and environmental ecology.

Finally, we return to the clinical application of Patanjali. If Yoga Sutra 1.30 mapped the psychological obstacles that derail the mind, Sutra 1.31 diagnoses the physical fallout. We analyze the four unavoidable mind-body symptoms—including tremors and erratic respiration—that manifest when the intellect is distracted and the biological foundation is compromised.

This is not religion; it is structural reality. Let us begin the work.

Inside This Volume: The Science of the Vedas and Patanjali’s Clinical Diagnosis

1. From Moksha Science to God Worship: The Loss of Radical Self-Reliance in Indian Philosophy

Classical Indian systems were designed for Moksha—the clinical, self-directed liberation of the mind through rigorous mechanics. So how did these strict sciences degenerate into passive deity worship? We analyze the historical shift from radical self-reliance to theological dependency, exposing the timeline of how scientific observation was replaced by religious dogma.

2. The Rigveda & the Science of Origin: Deconstructing Apauruṣeya, Cosmic Order (Ṛta), and Vedic Epistemology

The Rigveda is frequently mistaken for a book of religious prayers. In reality, it establishes Ṛta—the strict, uncompromising cosmic order and mathematical laws of the universe. Discover the foundational epistemology of ancient Indian science and the concept of structural knowledge that exists independently of human authorship (Apauruṣeya).

3. The Sāmaveda & the Bio-Acoustic Science of Sound: Deconstructing Sāman, Neuromuscular Frequency, and Auditory Regulation

Sound is a quantifiable kinetic force. The Sāmaveda is not a collection of musical chants; it is an advanced bio-acoustic science. We explore how specific auditory frequencies (Sāman) interact directly with the central nervous system to regulate neuromuscular tension and alter baseline psychological states.

4. The Yajurveda: The Science of Applied Action, Biomechanics, and Transformation

Knowledge without execution is clinically useless. The Yajurveda provides the strict procedural mechanics for applied action and physical transformation. Explore the biomechanical blueprints of ancient procedures, understood not as magic, but as calculated interventions designed to restructure physical and cognitive reality.

5. The Atharvaveda: The Science of Microbiology, Immunology, and Environmental Ecology

Long before the invention of modern microscopes, the Atharvaveda mapped the unseen threats to human physiology. We deconstruct this fascinating text as an ancient treatise on microbiology, immunology, and environmental ecology, detailing the strict biological protocols designed for fighting disease and maintaining systemic health.

6. Yoga Sutra 1.31 Meaning: The 4 Mind-Body Symptoms of Mental Distraction in the Science of the Vedas

When the mind shatters, the body keeps the score. Following the nine cognitive obstacles of Sutra 1.30, Patanjali outlines the four unavoidable physical symptoms of a distracted intellect: mental pain, despair, bodily tremors, and erratic breathing (Duhkha, Daurmanasya, Angamejayatva, Svasa). Learn how to clinically diagnose these bio-somatic red flags in your own system.
