8 Steps to Freedom

Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026 | Time: 09:00 – 14:00 Led by: Yoga Master Shahid Khan

Start the new year with a return to the origins of yoga. This 5-hour Master Workshop explores Ashtanga Yoga (the 8 Limbs of Patanjali) as a complete path to inner freedom.

Our Goal: Reclaim the spiritual science of Yoga from modern fitness trends and return to its true roots.

Important Distinction: Patanjali's Ashtanga vs. Brand

It is crucial to understand: In this workshop, we practice the original Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali—the philosophical system of the 8 Limbs (Yamas, Niyamas, Asana, etc.), as detailed in Shahid Khan's book "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali".

We do not teach the modern fitness style "Ashtanga Vinyasa". Our physical practice is the Yogveda Method, which prioritizes precision and safety. We use the 8 Limbs as a roadmap to restore the depth to your practice that is often lost in modern "gym yoga."

The 4 Pillars of the Workshop

We move systematically through all layers of yoga, guided by the Yogveda Method.

1. Theory & Philosophy (The Foundation)

Based on Shahid Khan's book "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali". We begin by understanding the Yamas & Niyamas (ethical discipline). You will learn how these ancient rules serve as modern tools for mental clarity in 2026.

2. Asana Practice (The Body - Yogveda Method)

We practice a Yogveda Asana Sequence.

  • Focus: Precise alignment, correcting posture, and releasing deep-seated stiffness.

  • We use the body as a tool (Asana is only the 3rd step) to create stability for the mind—not to burn calories.

3. Pranayama (The Breath)

The bridge inward. After the physical work, we utilize:

  • Ujjayi Breathing: The victorious breath for heat and purification.

  • Breath Control: Techniques to regulate the nervous system and calm emotional turbulence.

4. Meditation (The Mind)

The culmination of the practice. We draw the senses inward (Pratyahara) and practice concentration (Dharana) to glide into a state of silent meditation (Dhyana). Here, you experience the true meaning of the 8 steps: Inner Freedom.

Your Benefit: Freedom Through Structure

  • Clarity: Understand the difference between yoga trends and classical tradition.

  • Physical: A strengthened, pain-free body through precise Yogveda Asanas.

  • Mental: A calm nervous system and focus through guided meditation.
