Strengthen Your Spine with Yoga
In this Bern workshop, I, Shahid Khan, will guide you through targeted yoga asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing techniques) to strengthen and rejuvenate your spine. You’ll learn to:

Anatomy of the Spine
The spine consists of 33 vertebrae, supported by key muscles:
- Cervical Spine: Enables head movements.
- Thoracic Spine: Protects organs and anchors the ribs.
- Lumbar Spine: Bears most of your body weight.
- Sacrum and Coccyx: Stabilizes hips and pelvis.
Key muscles:
- Erector Spinae: For standing upright.
- Multifidus: Stabilizes individual vertebrae.
- Core Muscles: Protects the lower back.
- Hip Flexors and Extensors: Supports posture.
Common Spine Problems
Weak or tight muscles can lead to issues:
- Poor Posture: Slouching or misalignment causes imbalances.
