The yoga method Yogveda Yoga was invented by Shahid Khan and is based on classical Yoga method, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Here is introduction to the yoga sutras.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a collection of 196 Indian sutras (aphorisms) that form the foundation of the philosophical system known as Yoga. These sutras, which were likely compiled in the 2nd century CE, offer a practical guide for attaining spiritual liberation and enlightenment through the practice of yoga.
The Yoga Sutras are divided into four chapters, or padas: Samadhi Pada, Sadhana Pada, Vibhuti Pada, and Kaivalya Pada.
The Samadhi Pada, the first chapter, discusses the concept of samadhi, which is a state of deep meditation or concentration in which the individual's consciousness is fully absorbed in the object of meditation. This chapter also introduces the concept of the "eight limbs of yoga," which are a set of ethical and physical practices that are meant to purify the body and mind and prepare the individual for the attainment of samadhi.
The Sadhana Pada, the second chapter, explores the practices that are necessary for the attainment of samadhi. This chapter introduces the concept of the "five hindrances" (kleshas), which are negative emotional states that can obstruct spiritual progress, and the "five obstacles" (antarayas), which are external distractions that can also hinder spiritual progress. The Sadhana Pada also discusses the concept of "karma," or the law of cause and effect, and the role it plays in the individual's spiritual development.
The Vibhuti Pada, the third chapter, explores the powers and abilities that can be attained through the practice of yoga. These powers, known as "siddhis," are considered to be distractions on the spiritual path and are to be avoided.
The Kaivalya Pada, the fourth and final chapter, discusses the attainment of "kaivalya," or spiritual liberation. This chapter explores the nature of the individual soul (jiva) and the supreme soul (purusha) and how the realization of their unity leads to the attainment of kaivalya.
Throughout the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali emphasizes the importance of discipline, self-control, and regular practice in the attainment of spiritual enlightenment. He also emphasizes the importance of non-attachment and dispassion in the spiritual journey, as attachment to the ego and worldly desires can obstruct spiritual progress.
Overall, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali offer a practical guide for those seeking spiritual liberation through the practice of yoga. They provide a framework for understanding the nature of the individual soul and the supreme soul, and offer guidance on the practices and attitudes necessary for the attainment of spiritual enlightenment.
